Responsibilities:

Business Units Information and Digital Solutions (IDS) is a global organization strategically positioned so that through information and technology leadership and solutions, we create meaningful connections and remarkable experiences, so people feel genuinely cared for. The Business Unit IDS organization is accountable for designing, developing, and supporting commercial or customer engagement services and capabilities that span multiple Business Units, functions, geographies, and digital channels.

This role includes data integration, acquisition, cleansing, harmonization and transforming raw data into curated datasets for data science, data discovery, and BI/analytics. The role is responsible for developing, constructing, testing, and maintaining data sets and scalable data processing systems focusing on the Next Best Action/Next Best Engagement Transformation Initiative for our International Business Unit.

This role also works with business and IT groups beyond the data sphere, understanding business needs and requirements, the enterprise infrastructure, and the many source systems. Input is raw datasets. Output is analytics-ready, integrated/curated datasets.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop data-centric solutions to advance our business teams across all our global affiliates
  • Consult with internal business partners (i.e. global marketing, sales, and medical affairs) to deliver data solutions to meet business needs
  • Achieve technical proficiency in the core tools used by the solution services team (i.e. SQL, AWS, Python)
  • Work in Agile Sprints with business facing project teams
  • Learn business processes and data used by business functions
  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable processes for delivery and supportability of our solutions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Acquisition: gathering and storing data in a location and format that it can be consumed for data preparation and/or downstream business uses.
  • Data Preparation: iterative process for exploring, integrating, cleaning, validating, and transforming raw data into curated datasets
  • Data Publishing: releasing data in consumable form for (re)use by others.
  • Gather business needs and requirements and translates into user stores for technical teams
  • Responsible for system testing, ensuring effective resolution of defects
  • Ensure adherence to appropriate quality standards and risk-based decision-making for all delivery efforts

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a computer science or information technology related field
  • 3 years experience working in data engineering 

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Certifications or experience in cloud technologies, especially Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Certifications or experience in Agile project delivery, especially Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Familiar with data integration methods (ETL, micro-services, API’s, real time/near real time integrations)
  • A strong learning agility
  • Ability to work independently or with a team
  • Proven track record of technical delivery
  • Experience working with a diverse and non-collocated global team
  • Technical curiosity and desire to innovate
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build networks/partnerships with diverse groups of individuals and to work effectively within geographically dispersed team and partners
