Job Description

ESS Business Intelligence is an Enterprise Shared Services team focused on data, reporting and data science supporting Humana’s Service Operations. The team is focused on converting data to actionable insights for our business partners who utilize to reduce administrative cost and improve the member’s experience. The Senior BIE solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers.

Responsibilities

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer will support the design and implementation of Enterprise Shared Services (ESS) solutions. As part of the ESS Business Intelligence team, main responsibilities would primarily involve the following:

• Lead cross operation analytics visualization projects (creating dashboards and reports for partners that focus on Contact Center operations, Member Experience, Associate Training, Member Claims, and more…)
• Work collaboratively to optimally apply data warehouse, cloud and BI architecture, data science and visualization tools and techniques (i.e. Synapse analytics, Power BI dashboards).
• Identify and understand business (operations support) to map these issues into quantitative questions and identify technical risks.
• Communicate insights and analytical findings to a broad range of audiences

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of data analysis experience OR Master's degree and 3 or more years of data analysis experience
• Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets from varying sources such as; Oracle, SQL Server, SharePoint, and Access
• Proficiency using Power BI and SQL
• Knowledgeable with database design and structures
• Familiarity with Data Governance practices and principals
• Experience in performing in-depth data analysis to derive insights that drives business strategic direction
• Be able to effectively communicate verbally and written to senior and executive leadership
• Ability to balance competing priorities to drive for the best outcome

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering Technology, Engineering or related field
• Advanced proficiency using in R in Power BI Desktop and/or Python
• Expertise in data mining, correlation analyses, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling
• In-depth experience in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivots, charts, graphs, etc.
• Prior experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors or using healthcare data
• Azure Synapse experience – notebooks, pipelines, data assets
• Azure Certified Data Engineer
