Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Data Scientist - Forecasting will work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams to develop complex proof of concepts, minimum viable products and fully deployable solutions. In this role, you will create complex predictive and optimization models that help deliver significant value to the company's businesses and functions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Contribute to the design, development and deployment of forecasting solutions and lead new features modeling on designated Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning platforms.
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance across a wide range of use-cases and data science techniques.
  • Own supply chain data sciences efforts such as data analysis, model development, deployment and monitoring.
  • Work on multidisciplinary teams of product owners, data engineers, software engineers, data scientists and business subject matter experts to deliver complex, large-scale projects on time.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Location Information

Preference is for this individual to work from Wayzata, MN or Wichita, KS, but open to remote within the United States.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, math, engineering or related field or equivalent experience,
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Applied Machine Learning experience (regression analysis, time series, probabilistic models, supervised, classification and/or unsupervised learning).
  • Experience with prototyping languages (Python or R)
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in data science, computer science, math, engineering or related field
  • Three or more years of experience in Supply Chain Planning
  • Professional experience applying predictive models for Supply Chain solutions
  • Experience with timeseries forecasting (ARIMA, Prophet, DeepAR, etc...)
  • Experience with JavaScript or similar programming language
  • Experience in software development environment and code management or versioning
  • Experience in agriculture
