Job Description

Role will lead the Enterprise Architect efforts for Applications and work with business and IT leaders to build and deliver technology strategy to deliver growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the establishment and execution of the roadmap and vision for application design and delivery
  • Guides build vs buy assessments for major initiatives and dev team projects
  • Build partnerships and relationships with business and Technology leadership
  • Understand the Technical issues related to the project and ensure timely resolution
  • Leads direct staff and project teams in the design, development, customization, configuration and implementation of applications designed to advance business initiatives
  • Responsible for the definition of, and adherence to Application architecture patterns and principles
  • Champion application architecture best practices amongst our development teams and senior leadership
  • Leads Sysco Application Engineering Community of Practice
  • Anticipate and plan for escalating demands on existing platforms emerging platforms
  • Understand the QA process and ensure that it is defined, reviewed and successfully executed through all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Ensure Sysco DevOps best practices are in use and act as a SME for optimizing application delivery
  • Develop future state application design and delivery models
  • Ensure application integration best practices are understood and followed via design reviews
  • In partnership with our Cyber organization, define and champion DevSecOps best practices and approaches
  • Act as a leader in our organization; ensure engineering teams are aligned with strategic data vision; drive consensus and understanding on technical issues.
  • Partner with federated Architects, Senior Management, and Product Owners and others to develop application definitions, roadmaps, and enterprise goals.
  • Work closely with Integration, Cloud, Infrastructure, and Application Architects as needed to achieve data management goals and objectives
  • Provide technical guidance and constructive feedback to leadership, team members, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to organize and decompose complex technological solutions, that include; specific technology deliverables, roadmaps, timelines, nonfunctional (Performance, scale) and budget impacts
  • Background in Application architecture on the following principles
  • Layering of enterprise applications
  • Structuring domain (business) logic
  • Structuring a Web user interface
  • Handling session state in stateless environments

Lead the optimization of assortment performance through analytics.

Owns assortment health checks; coordinates across teams to resolve issues. Facilitates data-driven decision-making. Supports item setup. Internal preferred.

Responsible for generating data and performing analytics on the Customer Growth Platforms to optimize product assortment or validate profitability of potential new business and current share of market. Generates proactive opportunities based on independent analysis and is responsible for driving results. Communicates on findings and proposed direction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the reporting function for quick needs, data turnaround & granular/specific/ornate needs at the team’s request.
  • Responsible for item set-up and feedback from the field to ensure things like description, 3rd line description, pack and size, etc. make sense in a field facing way.
  • Responsible for working with the team on data integrity/digital readiness/One Sysco Data attribution.
  • Work cross-functionally to automate or improve existing processes to streamline accuracy and performance and to optimize the impact of the assortment. Lead the design and implementation of a new dashboard and visualization tool in efforts to drive value to sales leadership and customers.
  • Engage in regular collaboration with team to enhance product knowledge, gain costing insights to aid in pricing strategy development, and identify the optimal product assortment.
  • Develop customer-specific strategies with Marketing, particularly in identifying and pursuing proactive opportunities (conversion/penetration opportunities), performing analyses, and helping to track against recommended opportunities.
  • Manage assigned Support Requests, define data requirements, collect required data needed for analysis, and validate accuracy of the analysis. Select and recommend a course of action for the assigned request by completing the analysis and creating deliverable(s) to communicate with the Customer Growth Platforms Team – Sales, Merchandising, Marketing.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Business/Engineering/Computer Science/Mathematics)

Education Preferred:

  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred

Experience Required:

  • 4+ years of progressive quantitative analytics experience required

Experience Preferred:

  • Distribution or foodservice experience a plus

Technical Skills and Abilities:

  • Quantitative problem-solver; analytical thinker who can draw conclusions from multiple data sources
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; polished presentation skills in front of an executive audience
  • Collaborative team player who works well with others to achieve positive results
  • Entrepreneurial spirit: embraces change and the challenge to innovate that comes with it
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data connections, data tables)
  • Intermediate PowerPoint skills (e.g., ability to create and manipulate decks, add charts and other visuals)
  • Proficiency in database access and reporting; Experience in SQL, Tableau, 1010Data, SAS, R or other relevant data mining software preferred
