Job Description

The Senior eCommerce Analyst is responsible ensuring the development and distribution of high-quality analytical work that helps provide insight into the consumer experience for clients to drive digital sales. This roles focus is to understand and leverage various sources of data related to the clients online retail experience to provide actionable, strategic insights to improve conversions on the eCommerce experience. You will leverage data across the consumer, marketing, and product stack to create analysis and reports that provide insight into where to remove friction points, optimize the channel strategy and increase transactions.

The Senior eCommerce Analyst will lead efforts to effectively communicate insights and drive informed decisions across a set of dedicated client teams. A successful candidate should have experience influencing decisions makers through reports, presentations, and informal discussions.

This role will report to the Director of Analytics and closely assists Digital Commerce Managers, Media Strategists and Product Teams to prove the impact of the Esntial Commerce product on clients business.

  • Conduct analysis of marketing, consumer journey and business data to tell a story, crafting insights to formulate strategies to improve online sales.
  • Leveraging data warehouse systems such as Snowflake and using statistical methods to analyze data from multiple sources. Works to uncover trends and proactively communicate findings via on-going reporting and analysis. Candidate must have the ability to lead change informed by data insights.
  • Shares insights into digital performance by channel, device, product, and shopping experience via a standard set of KPIs. Proactively supports new business initiatives and acts as a trusted advisor to the Digital Commerce Manager team to optimize performance.
  • Manage the intake of new analysis and reporting requests from Digital Commerce Managers and deliver these requests in a timely manner.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing tactics and on-site technology and the ability to build strong partnerships with the teams responsible for these experiences to help provide insights for improvements those aspects of ecommerce.
  • Partner with the Business Intelligence team to define a suite of standardized and automated reporting that will enable Digital Commerce Managers quickly identify opportunities for strategic shifts or testing.
  • Work with other cross-functional partners to standardize data collection methods and governance routines to ensure data is timely and accurate.
  • Ability and desire to mentor and coach team members on reporting clarity and accuracy, data communication, data analysis best practices, and business acumen.
  • Monitors industry developments in site analytics and performance analysis trends to ensure we are leveraging the best-in-class analytics methods and solutions to add value.
  • Deliver actionable insights into compelling PowerPoint slides with a simplified and visual story

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years of web analytics and reporting experience with 2 years in retail / eCommerce or an equivalent combination of education and work- related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics (Omniture), Webtrends and with first party consumer data sets.
  • High proficiency with SQL and data warehousing tools such as Snowflake
  • Proficiency with using Tableau, MicroStrategy or Power BI to create data visualizations from disparate data sources.
  • Strong ability to clearly articulate business performance metrics through data and data visualization.
  • Well versed in automated reporting methods such as Google APIs, Adobe Report Builder, Adobe Workspace, and other reporting efficiency tools.
  • High proficiency with Excel - including manipulating large data sets, using pivot tables, automating data pulls through 3rd party plugins.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills that can be leveraged to best communicate analytics findings.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, think conceptually and drive results within an ecommerce or software development environment.
  • Possess ability to synthesize complex or diverse information, collect and research data, use intuition and experience to complement data.
  • Experience working and leading groups within an agile environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Manage ambiguity and adapt readily and easily to changes in priorities and business conditions
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, manage multiple projects, a strong sense of urgency, and follow-thru in addressing issues.
