Job Description

The Data Scientist – Associate is an up & coming tech wizard that enjoys working behind the scenes; focused on data requirements & integrity, extrapolations & insertions, integration, advanced Excel functions, formulas and algorithms. The Assoc. Data Scientist will support improving efficiencies across data collection, measurement, reporting and analytics. He or she must be a critical thinker.

Essential Job Functions:

• Extrapolate data from various internal/external sources, regardless of data format or programming language.
• Support the digital marketing team in extrapolating, inserting and integrating data from >50 sources.
• Learn how to QA data output.
• Pull data from CSV into Excel and/or Google Sheets.
• Pull data from Google Sheets into Google Data Studio (GDS).
• Pull data from same sources into PowerBI.
• Perform intermediate level SQL queries.
• Learn automated processing inquiries (APIs) to support improving automation.
• Support data scientist, web analysts and customer data / customer marketing analytics managers on related data extrapolation, insertion and visualization projects.
• Graph data trends, utilizing resources mentioned above.
• Support the department’s custom data extrapolation, insertion, integrity and integration models to improve business processes.
• Measure and interpret data against benchmarks, performance models and industry standards.
• Compile regular, timely reports and communicate to management any important developments.
• Work with cross-functional digital and brand teams.

Position Requirements:

• Recent degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Math, Economics, Quantitative Marketing.
• 1+ years of SQL queries, javascript, css and jquery; ability to demonstrate knowledge and application during live interview.
• Experience with statistics modeling related to consumer marketing methodologies and systems.
• Intermediate user of Excel. Develop regression models in Excel, pivot tables, advanced macros, and ability to integrate with other business intelligence tools and visualization studios.
• Technical skills including editing and writing Boolean and/or complex data queries with solid understanding of open-source data mining / data visualization.
• Must be proactive and focused, detail-oriented, self-motivated, results-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to think creatively, critically, in order to clearly present ideas and communicate with team lead.
• Strong verbal, written skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs: Excel, Word, and Outlook, MS Azure, PowerBI
