A Spares Data Scientist/Engineer in the Spare Parts Planning organization will use spares data to create or generate data models for improvement of spares planning systems and processes. Determining the balance between inventory and service delivery (SLAs) will be crucial in this role as Demand Forecast, Inventory optimization and Service Levels are the key deliverables of the team. The Spares Parts Planning team rolls into the Applied Global Services (AGS) whose goal is to provide aftermarket support of the install base with the parts and labor to keep the tools up and running. The Spares Data Scientist will be tasked with evaluating spares data like demand history to plan spare parts globally to ensure the smallest economical part wait time. The Spares Data Scientist will work cross functionally with groups like Procurement, Logistics, Planning, Fulfillment, and IT to understand technical systems, processes, and data flows.

A background in After-Market Service Supply Chain is a plus but just a fundamental understanding of Supply Chain Management is needed. Knowledge on Enterprise Resource Planning systems like SAP ECC or Oracle ERP, Supply Chain Planning systems like JDA/Blue Yonder or Kinaxis is an added advantage.
An ideal candidate will be able to act independently, think analytically and communicate effectively.
Education: Bachelors/Master’s in Engineering preferably in Computer Science/Operations Research/Supply Chain Management/Industrial Engineering
Experience: 5+ years in Data Engineering/Data Scientist/Data Analytics or Supply Chain Management.
Skills: Proficiency in SQL and one programming language, Python highly preferable. Experience in Tableau, R, Shell Scripting, SharePoint, Web technologies, SAP ECC/CRM is a plus.
