Job Description

The Data Team manages collecting all the important information we need around our products, customers, and sales to effectively run our business. Data stores that data and provides us with access to the data in tools and dashboards.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a Head of Data to guide our long-term data strategy and lead our data team of data analysts, engineers, architects, and soon, data scientists. This is a collaborative role to work with senior members of our finance, marketing, customer experience, operations, product, and engineering teams. You'll need to be pragmatic, manage complex tradeoffs, and mentor and inspire your team. You will oversee data at Stadium Goods end-to-end, from data extraction to BI reports, including governance, compliance, and security. You will report to the VP of Engineering.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• You will provide leadership in developing standards, architectural design patterns, and best practices for scalable data processing, data modeling and warehouse.
• You will manage a team with diverse talents, across data engineering, data science, data architecture, and analytics, promoting close collaboration and career development.
• You will recognize opportunities to improve the team's process, gain support and alignment, and lead their implementation.
• You will work with Farfetch, Stadium Goods' parent company, to share expertise, align data strategies, and collaborate on solutions.
• You will manage the data needs of different stakeholders across multiple business verticals including finance, marketing, operations, commercial, and product management.
• You will communicate technical challenges to non-technical stakeholders, and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• You will help establish and monitor business and engineering KPIs that will be used as inputs for important decisions

WHO YOU ARE

• You have 3+ years in a leadership/management capacity around data engineering, building a data warehouse, data marts, and data pipelines
• You are familiar with our current tooling is helpful, many of us learned them on the job. We are using Tableau, Python, Airflow, Fargate, dbt, and BigQuery
• You have experience liaising and collaborating with teams in a dynamic work environment
• You have experience partnering with business teams to architect and strategize technology and data roadmaps
• You have experience managing or working with analytics; skills in data visualization a big plus
• You have a background in ETL and data processing, know how to transform data to meet goals
• You are familiar with modern software development methodologies like Agile, CI/CD, feature flagging, and infrastructure as code
• You have experience with SQL and working knowledge of using SQL for several reporting and transformation needs
