LIDA launched its Data Scientist Development Programme in September 2016, as part of its commitment to developing data science capability and driving multidisciplinary data science for public good. Now in its sixth year, the Programme currently has nine talented Data Scientists, drawn from a wide range of academic disciplines and backgrounds, who are passionate about finding data science solutions to complex, real-world challenges. There is a growing movement around the world to ensure the effective use of vast data collections to drive research, policy development and public good initiatives. LIDA brings together applied research groups and data scientists from all disciplines, opening up new opportunities to understand health and human behaviour and casting light on the action required to tackle a wide range of social and environmental problems.
