Job Description

T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Senior Data Scientists located in Bellevue, WA will conduct research, quantitative computer modeling, and economic analysis of critical engineering business topics.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Support the team in the evaluation of emerging technologies, assist with business case analysis, and craft insightful recommendations for the business.
• Use quantitative tools for performing ad hoc data mining and statistical analyses on complex business problems associated with both emerging and existing wireless technologies.
• Work with a variety of both internal technical teams, as well as outside partners, acting as a subject matter expert to aid in defining hypotheses and sourcing big data sets for analysis.
• Provide senior level guidance on statistical best practices and rigorous methodologies.
• Lead the implementation, assessment, and standardization of advanced quantitative models, and synthesize insights to answer key business problems.
• Work with large complex data sets and create frameworks for new data sets.
• Build crisp storylines, presentations, and briefings for executive leadership communications.
• Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.

Skill requirements:

• Performing segmentation using statistical modeling techniques, including machine learning, predictive analytics, logistics regression, decision trees, and clustering using R or Python.
• Utilizing software package Blocksim (Relisoft) for building and analyzing the reliability of different critical facilities architectures.
• Performing analysis of Radio Access Network (“RAN”) performance indicators using rigorous statistical methodologies for incrementality measurement including logistics regression, experimental design, and hypothesis testing.
• Analyzing large data sets for the purpose of optimization, forecasting, and development of technology hardware and/or software associated with 4G/5G air-interface radio resource scheduling.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS:

• Master’s degree in Economics, or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.
