As a direct report to the Digital Transformation Office (DTO) Operations & Strategy Execution Director, the Operations Research Analyst will be a key member of the DTO Value Delivery Team, supporting the DTO Leadership Team day-to-day business operations, strategic planning, and execution.

The primary location of the position would be Falls Church, VA as a first choice, and then any other major NG location (CA, BWI, Rolling Meadows, Florida, CO etc....), however, virtual telecommuting will be an option.

Responsibilities are typically diverse and vary according to the organization's changing needs, to include the following:

  • Contribute to definition and measurement of value achieved against strategic Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Research and evaluate candidate new technologies and processes into DTO business operations to improve operational efficiency.
  • Analyze actual and predictable interacting operational activities of business to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision making through the application of logic and scientific or economic disciplines and techniques.
  • Devise modeling and measuring techniques; utilizes mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques (linear programming, game theory, probability theory, symbolic language, etc.), and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines.
  • Evaluate value estimation models from third party contractors for enterprise use/scalability
  • Define data architecture requirements and process for collecting and tracking value and KPI metrics.
  • Publish and maintain data visualizations, predictive models, dashboards, and automated reports
  • Develop recommendations for digital maturity improvements and implementation of digital solutions.
  • Interface with disparate teams to develop basis of estimates, proposals, and risk register entries.

This is not a Manager job. This is an individual contributor role.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 14 Years related work experience with a Bachelors degree; 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD or 18 years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and data modeling tools and techniques.
  • Skilled with dashboarding software (e.g., Excel/Power Pivot/Power BI and /or Tableau)
  • Experience with KPI / performance metric reporting and analysis
  • Familiarity with business value tracking and predictive models
  • Familiarity with Web-based databases and dashboard reporting systems
  • Continuous improvement experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data integrations between tools like: Sharepoint, M365, Confluence, Jira, SQL Database Mgt, Cameo, Salesforce, Cognos
  • Mastery of predictive modeling using Machine Learning/Monte-Carlo simulation.
  • Familiarity with: Confluence, Jira, Qualtrics, Sharepoint, Teams, Tableau.
  • Experience in Operations Management/Strategic Planning
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including presentation skills to senior leadership
  • Expert experience with data analytics: e.g., data visualization/data analysis/automated workflows.
  • Experience with Agile management practices & tools

Salary Range: $129,000 USD - $212,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
