Job Description

The Data Science Team comes under the Digital & Innovation Services Group which is responsible for spearheading and fostering digital transformation across Asia Digital Engineering (ADE). The ADE works on business and operations problems across the respective entities (Engineering Maintenance & Support Services, Component & Warehouse Services) in the AirAsia Aviation Group. It is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities and our vast experience in airline engineering managing the world’s best low-cost airline, ADE aims to uphold the highest standards when it comes to professional integrity, quality, reliability, driving greater efficiencies and safety, for all of our customers at all times. Key problems we solve include predictive and prescriptive analytics for Predictive Maintenance, Text Analytics/Text Mining/NLP (Natural Language Processing), Intelligent recommendation systems, and other advanced techniques.

Duties

• Work with group stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
• Mine and analyze aviation data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and operational business strategies.
• Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
• Develop predictive models using Machine Learning (e.g. classification, clustering, regression, dimensionality reduction methods), Natural Language Processing (OCR, information extraction), and statistical analysis methods such as time-series analysis, statistical inference, and validation tools; perform exploratory data analyses, generate and test working hypotheses, prepare and analyze historical data, and identify patterns
• Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor the quality outcomes. 
• Research on algorithm improvements for higher performance, accuracy, and optimality.
• Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.

Role Requirements

• Bachelors/Master/PHD Degree in Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or related field from an accredited university with 4-7 years of professional services experiences
• Experience using ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn. 
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform products and services such as Vision API, Recommendations API, Cloud Natural Language.
• An in-depth knowledge of AI techniques, their real-world advantages/drawbacks, and ability to prescribe and implement feasible and appropriate conventional/AI related techniques that serve as solutions to problems. 
• Good knowledge of codebase shares like Gitlab, bitbucket, and CI/CD process
• Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on business solution product development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams. 
• Great team player but at the same time able to work independently with minimal supervision
