Work with a multidisciplinary team to design and develop innovative analytical products & solutions using advanced analytics, data mining and machine learning.

Position Duties

• Develop software and code for quick and easy data access.
• Provide the data support to the data scientists by using traditional and new technology, e.g., cloud platforms like Azure and AWS.
• Facilitate clean data access to the data scientist.
• Act as an IT-liaison and in partnership will do feasibility analysis of hardware and software to support data science initiatives at Protective.
• Work closely with data scientist and IT for model deployment and evaluating emerging data science technologies.
• Collaborate with business leaders and partners to understand business needs and translate them into established business goals and measures of success.
• Independently gather requirements from appropriate business partners for project, including necessary data for analysis.
• Develop project plans, execute on deliverables within agreed upon timeframes, manage deadlines, communicate progress and make recommendation to address issues.
• Act as an IT liaison and work in partnership to assess new hardware and software to support data science initiatives.
• Perform data curation, data mining on large datasets (structured and unstructured) and do Exploratory Data Analysis to assess data quality for predictive modeling using advance techniques.
• On-need basis independently build predictive models using advance predictive modeling techniques.
• Independently, ascertain and execute plans to implement and maintain predictive models using available tools and programming languages. 
• Monitor and provide feedback on model performance and make recommendations to recalibrate model as necessary. 
• Present and communicate results using tools like PowerPoint to target audience.

Requirements

• Requires a master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
• Must have 2 years of experience in leading team as a Project Manager or a Senior member to plan, design and implement technology solutions (direct management of team is not required); 5 years of experience with relational databases; 5 years of experience with SQL programming; and 3 years of experience in building analytics tools for large scale data mining using programming languages, such as Python, Hive, Pig etc.
• Must possess 3 years of experience in working closely with data analytics teams.
• Must also have 2 years of hands-on experience working in cloud computing platforms, e.g., Azure, AWS, and design API integrations with cloud applications; 2 years of experience with Data Visualization tools, e.g., Domo, Power BI etc.; 2 years of understanding of Hadoop and Big Data ecosystem.
