Machine learning is at the heart of our approach. Our data science teams help us to provide millions of customers with individualized, real-time experiences, protection, and decisions. In order to further scale our efforts in this space, we are building world class machine learning platforms. These will enable our data scientists and machine learning engineers to take models from conception to production faster than ever before. 

The horizontal analytics team is a new team within the Machine Learning Product organization focused on quantifying the value delivered from new machine learning capabilities, and developing and maintaining platform analytics to drive product strategy.

As a senior business manager, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to solve complex questions. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Problem solving: Partnering with product leaders to develop robust estimates of value creation for new machine learning capabilities
• Data analysis: Using data to identify how platform capabilities are being used, and ultimately developing and improving dashboards to provide transparency to platform leaders and stakeholders
• Strategy: Developing and maintaining monitoring of the landscape of other machine learning solutions in use at Capital One as we seek to drive convergence toward destination capabilities
• Product: Identifying development work required to develop metrics, helping to size the required effort, and partnering with product leaders to have this work prioritized

• Partnership: Work closely with partners such as other Product leaders, Tech, Design, and Finance

• Strong communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Clear results orientation: Display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. Drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment. Possesses a successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
• At least 2 years of experience in quantitative analysis
• At least 2 years of experience in qualitative analysis
• At least 1 year of experience in people management
• At least 1 year of experience in project management

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis
• 5+ years of experience in qualitative analysis
• 2+ years of experience in people management
• 2+ years of experience in product development
• 2+ years of experience in financial modeling
• 2+ years of experience in economic forecasting
• 2+ years of experience in project management
