Job Description

Job summary

Amazon Business is one of Amazon’s fastest growing new initiatives focused on building solutions to enable business customers to research, discover and buy business, industrial and scientific products in large catalogs; across multiple devices, marketplaces and regions. Our customers include individual professionals, businesses and institutions that buy in either high frequency or in bulk quantities. Our customers have different and frequently more complex needs than the traditional Amazon customer base, such as business-only selection and pricing, multi-user business accounts, approval workflows, business payment solutions, tax exemptions, dedicated business customer support and much more.

We are looking for experienced and motivated people to be part of the Foundational Services team, and help build a system to coordinate and enforce actions and steps needed to compliantly execute business transactions. This system will be used to support the evolution of Amazon Business in capturing additional areas of the B2B market including core expenditures that are required and planned by businesses.

We are seeking someone who can thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy and fun work environment where we deliver value incrementally and frequently. We value highly technical people who know their subject matter deeply and are willing to learn new areas. We look for individuals who know how to deliver results and show a desire to develop themselves, their colleagues, and their career.

Key job responsibilities

  • Translate business and functional requirements into robust, scalable, operable solutions that work well within the overall data architecture.
  • Design, develop, implement, test, document, and operate large-scale, high-volume and low latency applications.
  • Build integrations between amazon and amazon business data.
  • Designs data integrations and data quality framework.
  • Develops and maintains scalable data pipelines and builds out new API integrations.
  • Implement data structures using best practices in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, SQL, and Redshift.
  • Manage stakeholder communication, prioritization of tasks and on time solution delivery.

  • Produce comprehensive, usable dataset documentation and metadata.
  • Design and develop operational and analytical reports as per the customer needs by using the tools.
  • Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools.
  • Mentor junior data engineers.
