As a Sr. Data Scientist on Global Omnichannel & Strategy team you will build experimentation and inferential frameworks and drive products through experimental design, implementation, analysis to drive strategic business decisions and find new ways of elevating customer experience across channels. Our internal teams develop greater agility, operate more efficiently and serve our consumers better through your work.

You will apply classical ML algorithms, cutting-edge deep learning (DL) and reinforcement learning approaches to areas such as customer demand estimation, behavior mining, capacity planning, predictive store maintenance, pricing optimization, pose estimation, among others. The impact of these initiatives will be measured based on profitability while driving omnichannel productivity. You will report into the Data Science Manager.

In this role, you will: 

  • Ability to work independently and proven track record in applied microeconomics and causal inference. 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex scientific solutions to a non-technical audience. 
  • Proficient in understanding and implementing cutting-edge research into proof of concepts. 
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, build alignment, influence technical roadmaps, and own roadmap workstreams. 
  • Mentor and grow junior members of the team in building the best of the class solutions. 
  • Actively contribute to raising the bar of the team ML standards and best practices. 
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the business, its emerging opportunities, and how to measure impact.
  • Proactively identify trends and opportunities to drive innovation, both in what we do and how we do it.

Ideally, you will have: 

  • An advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field (Ph.D. is a plus) 
  • 7+ years of professional experience developing and deploying machine learning models and algorithms of progressing complexity and demonstrated business impact 
  • Wide and deep knowledge of the entire model development pipeline from ideation to deployment, testing & monitoring and different ML architectures (e.g., supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning, etc.) 
  • 3+ years experience with Python & SQL programming and model development experience. 
  • 1+ year experience working with business stakeholders to identify opportunities and inform prioritization. 
  • 1+ years of experience working in retail. 
  • Proficient in multiple ML frameworks and core technologies (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.) 
  • Proficient with AWS, GCP or equivalent on-premise platforms.
