Job Summary?

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist who is passionate about understanding operating principles, failure modes of mechanical hardware such as IC Engines, Compressors, and Refrigeration systems, etc. and develop different machine learning models that can accurately segregate/predict impending failures among fielded assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Business teams in identifying problems with impact analysis.
  • Acquire Data from primary or secondary data sources available in structured and unstructured form.
  • Perform Data modeling activities such as data cleansing, merging, and enrichment.
  • Perform feature engineering through extracting meaningful features from measured/derived data.
  • Perform exploratory and targeted data analyses
  • Develop machine learning-based predictive models that potentially address business problems.
  • Combine models through ensemble modeling for high fidelity/accuracy in prediction
  • Review and operationalize the models working with Product/IT teams.
  • Generate reports, annotated code, and other project artifacts to document, archive, and communicate outcomes.
  • Follow standard Software development Lifecycle practices in developing modeling algorithms
  • Demonstrated expertise in critical thinking and problem-solving methods
  • Demonstrated expertise in presentation and communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a global team environment
  • Should be a self-starter with minimum dependency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (preferably in the mechanical discipline)
  • Master’s or Advanced Degree in Business Analytics, Data Sciences, Statistics, Engineering or quantitative field.
  • Min to 10 years of proven experience as a Data Scientist in developing Prognostic and Predictive models preferably for industrial problems such as Automotive, Power Plant, Gas turbines and/or Refrigeration/HVAC systems, etc.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong proficiency in
  • Inferential statistics
  • Machine-learning methods such as Regression, Classification, and Clustering
  • Anomaly detection modeling and Time Series Analysis
  • SQL and Python/R Programming
  • General proficiency in Text/Image analytics
  • Familiarity with tools such as Alteryx Designer, Tableau is an added advantage.
  • General awareness/knowledge on application of Industrial Machinery such as Compressors, Refrigeration, IC engines, etc.
