Position summary

T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Data Scientists located in Frisco, TX will effectively use current and emerging technologies to create machine intelligence models.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Effectively uses current and emerging technologies to create machine intelligence models;
  • Use predictive analytics techniques and inductive statistical analysis to predict outcomes and behaviors;
  • Interact with business partners to identify questions for data analysis and experiments;
  • Ingest data from different sources using different ETL tools;
  • Provide support to application in production environment;
  • Design and/or develop processes and systems to analyze high volume, diverse “big data” sources using advanced mathematical, statistical, querying, and reporting methods; and
  • Identify meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interpret and communicate insights and or prepares output from analysis and experiments to business partners.

Skill requirements:

  • Engage in data collection, extraction, wrangling and processing, including data engineering and feature engineering, and perform Exploratory data analysis including univariate, bivariate, statistical analysis and hypothesis testing for analysis and for preparing the datasets for models. Use ETL and visual workflow tools including Apache Nifi, Diyotta DI Suite, Alteryx for ingesting, processing data and scheduling jobs.
  • Utilize Dataiku to achieve MLOPS cycle, ingest data from multiple sources including Snowflake, Azure data lake, blob storage, API endpoint URLs, Teradata, Hadoop HDFS. Perform Exploratory data analysis, Feature engineering, Model development, Hyperparameter tuning, schedule the runs on daily basis and conduct real time via API triggering and monitoring modeling along with any feature and data drift.
  • Work with Hive, HBase, Elastic Search, or comparable tools to improve the time latency taken to insert records for providing real time processed feeds. Use Kibana to visualize and analyze json feeds at real time.
  • Use Kafka as a pipeline for streaming real time feeds from social media platforms and various sources to provision data to Spark Processors and Machine Learning Models. Use SVN, GitHub, or comparable tools for version controlling.
  • Develop various supervised and unsupervised Machine Learning Models including Classification models using Naive Bayes, Support Vector Machine, KNN, Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest algorithms (or comparable tools) and Recommendation models using Collaborative Filtering technique, Clustering models using k-means, Centroid-based, Hierarchical, Fuzzy C-Means in Databricks platform and various IDEs including Eclipse, Intellij, Visual Studio using programming languages including Java, Python, Scala, R, PySpark.
  • Engage in visualization of insights and results data using Power BI, Neo4j, D3. Use GraphX to simplify graph analytics tasks.

Experience and education requirements:

  • PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Science or related, and 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience.

Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.
