Job Description

The Algorithm Enablement team at Stitch Fix is a highly impactful group of data platform engineers who develop some of the most mission critical infrastructure at Stitch Fix. The team owns our API strategy, execution as well as systems and platforms to help unlock critical algorithmic capabilities. In addition we also invest in high-leverage, self-service platforms and tools to facilitate scalable research & development for our data scientists. We are driven by the elegance of beautiful abstractions that scale and age well, and by helping our colleagues run production algorithms with less friction, which ultimately increases the velocity at which the business can progress.

About the Role

In this role, you will be developing, monitoring and improving our Machine Learning systems and tools - to support the work of the Data Scientists and Product teams:

• Building new platform services, tools and infrastructure for delivering algorithmic models to production.
• Responsible for implementing metrics, monitoring and operating a highly diverse set of critical systems.
• Consult and advise Data Science teams in using the platform tools and services.
• Collaborating and partnering with different functions within Stitch Fix - Data Science, Product, Engineering and other platform teams.
• Contribute to the long term technical strategy of the team, especially focused on scalable, resilient architecture.
• Drive technical decisions via design and code reviews.

• Strong experience (5+ years) in building out scalable distributed and production systems, specifically around personalization and recommendations systems.
• Exceptional technical acumen - including architecting distributed systems with tradeoffs, developing high quality software, and operationalizing services.
• Experience working autonomously and taking ownership of projects.
• Ability to think globally, devising and building solutions that meet many needs across the organization and prioritize business impact.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills that help simplify and move complex problems forward with business partners.
• Natural curiosity and tendency to get excited to dig in and understand how things work.
• Experience with the technical stack and tools we use in the team including: Python, RESTful web services (based on FastAPI), Docker, AWS Aurora, Datadog.
