About The Role

As a Senior Business Intelligence Specialist at Mindvalley, you are responsible for the reporting standards as well as insights that MindValley uses. You, with the report directly to the Data Analytics team and will be based on ensuring reporting capabilities for the organisation as well as proactively assessing the business health and needs.

You must have hands-on experience with BI tools such as DataStudio, Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, or similar and have strong understanding with SQL and Google Cloud offerings. A proper understanding of reporting standards and a keen eye and stickler for data validation would go a long way.

Responsibilities

  • Possesses strong technical skills in analysing different forms of data set, recognise trends and patterns by using a variety of variables to model different scenarios and clearly present findings and impacts to drive decision making.
  • Excellent data storyteller who can influence and support other departments and stakeholders with the goal of building and validating a comprehensive data set and assumptions that will support decision making.
  • Supports other departments and stakeholders by challenging ideas, promoting constructive discussions and harmonising conflicting views to drive positive outcomes.
  • Design, create, monitor performance/ projects and report ongoing and ad hoc metrics in reports, presentations, and dashboards that are of value and interpret them to the stakeholders.
  • Deliver accurate and value-adding actionable insights.
  • Provide BI reporting on all the identified KPI areas specified in the Mindvalley KPI requirements document by creating, developing, updating and maintaining BI reports.
  • Provide ongoing support and implementation of change for the ETL solution.
  • Maintain analytics software in the back end, ensuring data is coming through correctly.
  • Apply data management practices and principles in ways of working.
  • Identify patterns, trends and insight through use of the appropriate tools.
  • Identify data quality issues through data profiling, analysis and stakeholder engagement.
  • Analyse the data to provide insights for internal and external stakeholders on improving the organisation’s performance.
  • Apply dimensional data modelling concepts and practices to develop conceptual, logical and physical data models to support insight delivery.
  • Works collaboratively with other teams to resolve data discrepancies and/or to clarify reporting procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or statistics field of Statistics, Computing or Computer Science.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in a similar role in Data teams.
  • Deep understanding of how analytics data are instrumented, extracted, and used in reporting.
  • Track record of successful delivery of measurement solutions/ products/ models.
  • Must have experience in deploying and maintaining reporting data layers and ETL pipelines.
  • Able to suggest Robotic Process Automation/ enhancements to current workings.
  • Strong hands on experience with SQL and at least one scripting language (e.g. Python).
  • Strong data query skills for data manipulation through nested and join queries.
  • Logical thinking and ability to implement data normalisation.
  • Advance skills in data visualisation software - Data Studio, Tableau, Power BI or similar visualisation tools.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in ETL design, data manipulation, data warehousing and database solutions.
  • Experience of Business Intelligence reporting design, implementation and storytelling.
  • Understanding of data from Google, Facebook, Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel.
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud product offerings from GCP, Azure, AWS, AlibabaCloud or similar.
  • Strategically-minded yet strong detail-orientation with a penchant for data accuracy.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organisation with varying technical backgrounds.
  • Strong analytical ability, critical thinker and a good sense of business acumen.
  • Exemplary relationship builder who is consultative in nature and from partnerships with coworkers and customers.
