QVC UK is on the search for a talented data scientist to join our fast paced, dynamic, and fun team in Chiswick, London.

As a Data Scientist at QVC, you will:

  • Be part of an international team of data scientists and data engineers, working on projects that bring value to the business.
  • Build and maintain data-driven predictive models in Python.
  • Help in maintenance, improving and extending of existing models (e.g., price recommender, client churn, etc.).
  • Explore large datasets (e.g., conducting A/B, group testing) in SQL and Python with a view of providing the business with a descriptive or predictive analysis as a report or a dashboard in Tableau.
  • Create and test ingest and pre-processing pipelines for data-driven models on cloud infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with a wide range of business stakeholders.

Key Skills / Qualifications:

  • MSc or equivalent in STEM discipline from an accredited university.
  • Extensive experience as a data scientist or machine learning engineer.
  • Proven track records of developing data-driven models (e.g., using scikit-learn, gradient boosting or other state of the art algorithms and libraries).
  • Strong programming skills in Python, using libraries like pandas and NumPy for data manipulation.
  • Strong skills in querying data using SQL.
  • Experience working with cloud computing (Azure is preferred).

  • You have a strong interest in developing predictive models for retail business, including customer and product segmentation, buying behaviour, stock and price optimization, sentiment analysis, etc. and can apply solid theoretical foundations and some practical experience to achieve good results.
  • You are passionate about learning and keeping abreast with the industry research and development.
