Job Description

Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.

Responsibilities:

• Lead & develop analytics center of excellence consisting of data scientists, data translators, data analysts and project managers
• Provide team leadership, shared vision, and positive communications to achieve DBS HK’s vision and strategy around data, analytics and artificial intelligence
• Ensure that data is treated like a strategic asset and that appropriate governance, quality standards and controls are implemented,
• Develop analytics capabilities across the organization through best practices, training and technology & tools implementation and partnerships.
• Lead centralized business intelligence, data management teams.
• Work closely with the Group, in country BU/SU data champions and data technology teams to ensure the appropriate adoption of standards, reference models and enterprise -level solutions
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and define the business case
• Collaborate with external and internal partners to design the solution
• Produce innovative solutions for internal business units driven by exploratory data analysis from complex and high-dimensional datasets, both structured and unstructured, applying advanced statistical, data mining, and machine-learning techniques.
• Apply knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, deep learning and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to better business decision making
• Use a flexible, analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data
• Generate and test hypotheses, analyze and interpret the results of product experiments
• Communicate data-driven insights and deliver action plans that steer business strategy and decision-making for one or more business segments.
• Collaborate with the other project team members leading the Data Architecture and Data Modelling to ensure good alignment between the technical and functional project goals.
• Work business analytics teams to translate prototypes into new products, services, and features and provide guidelines for large-scale implementations
• Provide input and guidance on data visualization techniques and opportunities
• Identify new analytics tools and techniques and lead development and deployment of infrastructure for generating and analyzing information
• Rollout Group or HK’s data initiatives and provide guidance and support to business units
• Run the data governance operating model / AI&ML governance operating model, understand data governance issues and help to define the roadmap for data flow, documentation and workflow for these problems
• Create data strategy and operating model enablers, refine and improve the existing data strategy
• Manage the data quality transparency and governance KPIs
• Ensure alignment & compliance with regulatory requirements around governance and use of data.
• Assist the Team Head on run different type of data related committee or forum in HK. For example, data council committee, AI model governance forum, Data Platform forum, Analytics forum, Data issues Forum.

Requirement:

• PhD or Master’s degree preferred in Computer Science or Mathematics with at least 12 years of relevant working experience analytics/data Science.
• Experience in translating business strategy into value creation through data, analytics and AI
• Experience in Information Technology systems and ability to understand how data interacts with the enterprise digital/technology foundation
• Experience in developing a robust data architecture for a large-scale enterprise
• Experience in setting data governance standards and policies
• Experience in translating technology roadmaps and strategy to operational improvement
• Experience in driving large scale organization change and adoption
• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the data / analytics / AI technology involved and industry trends
• Ability to build, collaborative cross-enterprise teams
• Strong influencing and collaboration skills, in working across organization boundaries.
• Proficient with Three or more predictive analytics tools including Python, PySpark, AWS AI solutions, MATLAB, Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik
• Strong knowledge of Python and the library ecosystem
• Demonstrable professional experience with data mining, analysis, modeling, of largescale, complex data sets
• Proficient in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing (A/B testing), deep learning and optimization algorithms
• Proficient in at least one high level programming languages such (i.e. Python,, Pyspark, AWS solutions, Julia, and etc.)
• Proficient in statistical modeling tools and Cognitive analytics like text analytics, image recognition, video analytics etc.
• Proficient in model identification by use case/industry and knowledge of applying models to enterprise use cases
• Able to explain analytical methodologies and concepts in non-technical language
• Experience with NoSQL databases and tools (i.e. Hadoop, Hive Spark, etc.)
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Fluency in English and Cantonese
