Job Description

The Data Science Institute and the Physical Sciences Division invite applications for a Senior Instructional Professor position to lead the Data Science Clinic. The selected candidate(s) will be appointed as Senior Instructional Professor or Associate Senior Instructional Professor with rank determined by qualifications and years of experience in a similar role. The appointment will be for a term of up to five years, renewable. This is a career-track position with competitive salary and benefits. Start date is expected to be August 1, 2022. 

Position responsibilities include hiring, evaluation, supervision, and mentoring of academic and staff appointees in the clinic program. Additional responsibilities include leading and teaching data science experiential learning programs and curricular development.

Qualifications

Required:

• A Ph.D. in a related field; 
• experience in management of experiential learning academic programs and personnel; 
• two years’ experience teaching in a college or university as an instructor of record; 
• And 7 years of industry experience with demonstrated quantitative, analytic, and leadership experience.

Preference will be given to candidates with training and professional experience in one or more of the following areas: data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, databases, and applied statistics.
