We are looking for Co-Op/interns who are passionate about biology, medicine, data and ML to join our talented team by bring a data and AI first mindset to solve business problems. In this position you’ll be working with renowned, published leaders and academics in machine learning to further develop your skillsets

Students can focus on unique aspects of the R&D space including areas such as:

• Active learning for drug discovery
• Deep Neural Networks for the analysis and modeling of imaging data
• Graphical models for systems and network biology using single cell data
• Integrating clinical and molecular data
• Evaluating and designing ML methods for new technologies such as spatial transcriptomics

• Interested in evaluating, testing and extending complex ML methods for drug and vaccine discovery.
• Enthusiastic and adaptable to various digital tools and strategies to drive an innovative workplace

ML for Drug and Vaccine Discovery INTERN - What you’ll be doing:

• Focusing on a specific analysis challenge and deep diving to understand the current landscape of data, methods, evaluation metrics and implementations available.
• Working with our ML data teams, define a strategy to test, evaluate and further extend methods for the data and / or problem you are assigned.
• Implement, test and refine the methods and apply them to internal Sanofi data in close collaboration with our experimental and clinical teams.
• Enabling the visualization of the results to make them accessible to non experts
• Prepare the work for publication in major conference / journal

What’s your experience and education:

• You are working towards a MSc degree in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Machine Learning or related areas.
• You have worked, or is working on the analysis and modeling of molecular, biological or clinical data
• Enthusiasm for the drug discovery area is a must.
• Passionate about working within an AI transformation
• Can work independently and enjoy taking ownership of projects
• You have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or 8.0 on a 12.0 scale
• You have demonstrated skills such as self-motivation and self-discipline, organizational, time management analytical thinking and problem solving. Listening, verbal communication, written and interpersonal skills to interact at various levels of the organization.
• An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work
• You must be legally eligible to work for Sanofi in Canada
