Role/Responsibilities

Moody’s Analytics’ Core AI/ML team is seeking research Interns to join our Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning team in New York (and remote).
The AI/ML team is part of the Predictive Analytics unit within Moody’s, working to advance the state of the art in natural language understanding and generation, and deploys these systems at scale.
Our research spans multiple areas across NLP and machine learning, especially using deep learning/neural networks based tools for natural language understanding and generation, language modeling, pre-training, question answering, and cross-lingual and cross-domain transfer learning.
As a Research Intern, you will help us apply cutting-edge NLP algorithms to a wide range of product-focused challenges at Moody’s.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop NLP models and pipelines, leveraging deep learning and machine learning on big data resources
• Training deep neural networks for key NLP tasks.
• Architecting, implementing, and serving new NLP ML solutions to tackle problems within the financial sector (ex: mining financial distress indicators, information extraction from news media)

Qualifications

Applying candidates must be proficient in following skills:

• Experience in PyTorch or Tensorflow, Python.
• Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various deployed ML/NLP models.
• Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources.
• Ability to communicate complex research in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
• Staying up to date with the current SOTA NLP models, including reading academic papers and implementing learnings

Other considerations for competitive applications:

• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a PhD or Master’s degree.
• Proven track record of achieving results as demonstrated by first-authored publications at workshops or conferences such as ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, AAAI, ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR or similar.
• Experienced with the development of enterprise level AI, machine learning and deep learning platform involving big data management and GPU compute.
• Experience with API development, Event Driven Architectures, Elasticsearch, AWS, RabbitMq, Docker/Kubernetes

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (i.e., at least 2 weeks after last dose) and, if hired, present proof of vaccination on start date, as determined by Moody’s.
