Job Description

We are looking for an Advanced Analytics Manager who will support our cross-functional business teams. The ideal candidate must be commercially minded to understand business challenges or growth strategies. They must have extensive, hands-on experience with computer coding and statistics to help answer business questions. With strong communication skills, they must be able to communicate technical concepts to a variety of people including non-technical audiences. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights. They must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of data models and algorithms to address business challenges using computer code, statistics and business acumen.
  • Serve as analytics translator to business decision makers.
  • Leverage data visualization platforms (e.g. Tableau, Data Studio) to simplify & automate data sharing.
  • Identify data needs, business questions and business use cases for data driven business solutions through collaboration with the cross-functional team.
  • Manage analytics or insight projects internally and with vendors including the dissemination of results to key stakeholders. Evaluate external partners across different dimensions for analytics initiatives.
  • Lead development and implementation the Analytics Roadmap for Hill’s Canada by leveraging the Global Commercial Analytics strategy and local business requirements.
  • Clearly and dynamically translate information into impactful insights to technical and non-technical audiences including customers.
  • Develop relationships with regional & global counterparts in order to share best practice and apply learning.
  • Have the curiosity to take ambiguous problems and tackle them to achieve hypothesis-driven results.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects at once and deliver projects independently.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Statistics, Computer science, Business or related fields
  • Deep experience in applied data analytics and computer programming
  • Professional experience leading teams
  • Relevant work experience in Sales/Marketing
  • Experience with sales and/or marketing analytics and data modeling techniques
  • Commercial experience in sales or marketing to have an understanding of data requirements and reporting needs
  • Deep experience with SQL, Python and/or R for data manipulation and building models

It is a plus:

  • Master's degree in Business or Quantitative Field
  • Understanding of data architecture and data engineering
  • Practical experience using data visualization and/or BI tools (e.g., Domo, Tableau, Google Data Studio) to analyze data
  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing analytics concepts, including marketing mix
    modeling, churn risk prediction, and customer lifetime value
  • Familiarity with SAP systems (ECC, C4C)
