We are looking for a DevOps Engineer, to join our Data Platform Architecture & Technology Management team, guaranteeing the platform technology stack operational excellence. If you are obsessed with measuring performance and quality, and are passionate about learning how to automate these metrics, then this is a position for you. This position will be responsible for excellence in operations and systems lifecycle management, with a heavy focus on automation and metric implementations, to ensure the data platform attains its target costs and SLAs. The person in this position will champion platform observability, measuring uptime and quality of service, intervening proactively to ensure the platform is stable through our continuous delivery lifecycle, closely collaborating with the run team to find incidents root causes, and feeding back to the development team to ensure the service is strongly reliable and continues to improve in a measurable way. We are looking for a Solution Manager, DataOps, to join our Data Platform Architecture&Technology Management service, guaranteeing platform, technology stack, operations and data services and products management focused on operational excellence. With a strong focus on industrialization and operationalization, and reporting to the Lead Pillar Owner of the service, this position will be responsible for reaching excellence in operations and systems lifecycle management, with a heavy focus on automation to ensure the data platform attains its service level agreements and its target cost. The person in this position will champion platform observability, measuring uptime and quality of service, intervening proactively to ensure the platform is stable through our continuous delivery lifecycle, closely collaborating with the run team to find incidents root causes, and feeding back to the development team to ensure the service is strongly reliable.

Main
Responsibilities

Along with the below listed responsibilities, the employee should conduct any other business related to the function as required by her or his supervisor.

• Design and implement the observability strategy of our data & analytics platform
• Ensure the platform uptime and quality of service meets the expected standards, by implementing and monitoring meaningful metrics
• Coordinate incidents, ensuring ongoing communication between operations teams, developers and impacted stakeholders
• Draft postmortems and suggest concrete and achievable actions to ensure we learn from what has happened
• Drive automation of deployment activities, of monitoring and alerting
• Ensure the level of alerting is appropriate to provide the right data at the right time
• Responsible platform stabilization, automating and improving profiling and log analysis
• Plan, coordinate and deploy migrations and improvements for platform infrastructure components
• Help troubleshoot the hardest, most impactful incidents, ensuring all stakeholders are informed timely and animating war rooms

Experiences

• 3+ years’ experience in at least an area between technical support, operations, system administration, problem management
• 3+ years’ experience leveraging cloud technologies & infrastructure.
• 2+ years’ experience implementing DevOps best practices, for example setting up CI/CD pipelines, automation, platform observability, monitoring, and alerting strategies. ideally you have experience or strong awareness of SREs best practices and are interested in growing your expertise in the area.
• Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python…)
• Experience with Azure, AKS, Docker are advantages
• Experience with data and analytics technologies is a strong advantage: data pipelines performance optimization, data storage (SQL, data lake, no SQL) best practices
• Experience with direct technical user support is also an advantage
• Agile frameworks knowledge/experience

Education

A Bachelor, Master or PhD degree in Computer Science, Business/Management Information Systems, Computer/Systems/Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Data Science, Operations Research or Statistics. Strong academic background is a plus. Other backgrounds will be considered with relevant work experience.
