Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and energetic intern who is eager to learn about Artificial intelligence to support Risk management, Trading, Retail and IT in their data scientist /engineer projects. You will be working closely with product and engineering teams to identify and answer important product questions. As part of the Development and Machine Learning colleagues, you will work on cutting-edge AI technology. All our AI is built inhouse. You will have the opportunity to:

• Applying state-of-the-art machine learning and analytics capabilities in a Big Data context.
• Participate in the deployment of AI/ML cases within a modelling and project team
• Assists in the creation and implementation of machine learning algorithm
• Exposure to advanced machine learning techniques such as (neural network, decision trees, random forest, boosting algorithms, support vector machine, kernel based methods, genetic algorithms, clustering, Bayesian networks.. )
• Frame and conduct intricate statistical analysis using large structured and unstructured data sets (e.g., speech analytics, digital footprints, customer behaviour, financial information, proprietary market research, and secondary sources) with the goal of discovering meaningful implications for business decisions
• Participate to the data-wide initiative to facilitate the use of data within the organization
• Contributing to the Credit Risk & Models team to prototype new data models, conduct exploratory data analysis, and research data science
• Investigate and propose innovative solutions to remediate to data problems identified within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Support existing data initiatives (data lake, data-driven company initiative,…) to help the company to better understand and manage its data
• Improve and facilitate the understanding of data assets within the organization
• Help to prepare and organize status meeting with different key stakeholders
• Build deep understanding of data governance and data management
• Breaks down data concepts into comprehensible concepts to ensure appropriate level of communication and understanding for the project stakeholders

Requirements

• You are following a Master in IT, business, engineering, economics,…
• Analytical mind and affinity with numbers and programming (VBA, SAS, Python or SQL);
• Eager and motivated to learn
• Ability/motivation to assimilate a different large amount of information (SAS, Python, Power B, Qlik Sense) and translate it into clear process ideas.
• A critical and synthetic mind is key.
• Proactive personality, eager to challenge the status-quo;
• Making technical concepts easy to understand;
• Knowledge of Dutch or French and fluent in English.

Internship of 3-12 months. The intern is expected to be available at least 2 days a week.
