Job Description

SRBR is looking for a specialist in recommender systems to help our team to leverage insights on health data analytics, providing personalized guidance for a better health. The ideal candidate has experience in processing large amounts of data and delivering recommender systems to real products and services. The candidate will be part of our team of researchers working on a large scale Artificial Intelligence systems to impact the daily life of millions of users improving their health and wellbeing.

Role and Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Participate on Artificial Intelligence R&D projects, which have the purpose of producing innovative technology for enabling innovative services and equipping Samsung devices
• Hands-on contribution designing recommender systems, defining and executing experiments, performing evaluation, generating reports for multiple stakeholders (technical and executive), and enabling the technology to be deployed to Samsung Health services.
• Contribute to AI R&D strategy formulation
• Interact continuously with Samsung Headquarters and Samsung Overseas R&D Centers for understanding and aligning AI strategies, and corresponding technology roadmaps and requirements; discussing and negotiating new AI projects; reporting AI project progress; refining/adjusting directions whenever required;
• Contribute to collaboration with top-tier Brazilian R&D groups (open innovation)

Main Requirements:

• Solid Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering formal education
• Solid knowledge and skills in Recommender Systems
• Solid knowledge on Machine Learning techniques and fundamentals
• Solid skills in probability, statistics, experiment design and evaluation
• [nice to have] Experience in working on cloud environments (AWS, PySpark)
• Proven 5+ years of experience delivering recommender systems to a meaningful set of products/services/R&D projects

Skills and Qualifications

Education Degree:

• M.Sc or Ph.D. in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering obtained from a top-tier university with solid professional experience.

Language Requirements:

• Written and verbal fluency in Portuguese and English

Skills and Qualifications

• Practical experience in designing recommender systems
• Practical experience in analyzing and extracting insights from large volumes of data
• Practical experience in deployng recommender systems to big data environments (AWS, PySpark, Hadoop, etc.)
• Software engineering skills, including methodologies, best practices and related tools
• Experience applying machine learning to real-world problems, i.e., dealing with very large amounts of data
