Shift Technology offers a unique opportunity to data solutions engineers to accelerate their careers, improve their debugging and coding skills. We have a high ambition of moving all our clients to a new version of our framework, and need ambitious people that can do the heavy lifting for that project internally. 

The team is brand new and means to get to 30 members by the end of 2022. High performing members will have the opportunity to become team leads inside this team. We are looking for both contributors and team leads.

You will work internally with a team of engineers and project managers to achieve each migration.

YOUR ROLE

• Data Engineering for transferring data from V1 to V2, writing and testing that the data is well transferred, fixing issues and identifying edge cases and hacks. 
• Transferring automated processes by recoding them in the target framework, with the help of people who originally designed them.
• Configuring the user interface to have the right set of features for the client.
• Explaining the upgrade to the client-facing data scientist as well as onboarding them on how to use the new version of the framework.
• Help other data solution engineers around you, through onboarding, feedback and good practices sharing. It’s a team effort!

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Good debugging skills, such as a degree in computer science and/or some coding work experience and you feel comfortable spending time testing and understanding code.
• Ability to produce stable code which will smoothly run in a production context; you’re familiar with algorithm complexity assessment; you can write unit tests and integration tests; you think about potential problems and edge cases.
• Knowledge and experience of programming; you can write code that does what you want to achieve. C# knowledge is a plus.
• Good practical spirit, eager to understand how new systems work, and able to troubleshoot and improve them; when hitting an unexpected problem, you are ready to dig in to solve the problem yourself.
• Teamwork capabilities; you are comfortable working with others and you have good communication skills.
• English speakers; we are an international company with offices in many countries and 40+ nationalities, the Shift working language is English.
