Huawei is a leading global ICT solutions provider. Through our dedication to customer-centric innovation and strong partnerships, we have established end-to-end capabilities and strengths across the carrier networks, enterprise, consumer, and cloud computing fields. Our products and solutions have been deployed in over 170 countries, serving more than one third of the world's population.?

Do something that will matter! If you're looking for a meaningful opportunity with the potential to make true impact on the world and the way we live, work and play...let's talk!?

We are looking for candidates experienced in behavioral and motion planning with background in autonomous driving or related fields. The role involves designing and developing cutting edge algorithms to solve complex problems in autonomous driving domain. Our work focuses on problems in decision making, motion planning, and motion control for self-driving vehicles. We measure the success of our work on real-world vehicles, while using simulated environments as a primary tool for prototyping, testing, and evaluation.

?

Responsibilities
?

  1. Develop cutting edge algorithms for motion planning and motion control

  2. Improve how an autonomous vehicle behaves in complex and nuanced real-world situations

  3. Guide the development of solutions from prototyping to production and integration, including testing on simulated environments, deploying on real time robotic platforms, analyzing the results and collected data, and testing and validating on self-driving vehicles

  4. Research on planning solutions for autonomous driving, literature review, and publication

  5. Design, build and maintain large scale planning stack for production

  6. Work cross-functionally across different Huawei’s autonomous driving teams to drive new features to completion

Qualifications

  1. MS or PhD in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields

  2. Strong grasp of fundamentals: linear algebra, discrete and continuous optimization, coordinate transformation, mobile robot dynamics and kinematics

  3. Strong background in motion planning algorithms (A*, Probabilistic Roadmap, RRT, Potential Field, Voronoi Roadmap, ?)

  4. Proven track record of experience in relevant areas (significant industry experience and/or publication record at top venues like ICRA, IROS, IV, ITSC, or similar

  5. In-depth hands-on experience in C/C++ and Python, knowledge of ROS, and a track record of translating ideas into research prototypes quickly

Additional Information

  1. Passion for robotics and control systems

  2. Experience developing motion planners for mobile robots

  3. Experience developing safety-critical, efficient code, and optimizing highly performant C++ code

  4. Experience designing complex software system for robotic and hardware-in-the-loop systems

  5. Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and kinematics
