The Northrop Grumman Chief Data Office (CDO) is seeking a Senior Manager of Data Analytics. The Data Analytics Manager will lead the Data Operations organization and report to the Director of the Data Factory within the CDO. This individual will lead exciting, cutting-edge initiatives as we continue to build out our data & analytics program in support of the enterprise Digital Transformation effort. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting data analytics to drive value across our businesses, interacting regularly with stakeholders, and managing key analytic frameworks for all business areas, turning data into business insights and predictive / autonomous outcomes.

Primary location for the position is Falls Church, VA. We will consider full-time virtual or hybrid telecommuting options.

The responsibilities of the Senior Manager of Data Analytics include:

  • Build and develop a world-class team, leveraging a strong foundation already in place
  • Own operations for all data products and systems created by the CDO
  • Partner across the CDO leadership team to strategize completion of data projects to provide business value across the organization
  • Develop and execute vision for long-term maintenance of completed data products
  • Actively engage with customers across the enterprise to ensure data solutions meet current and future needs in a highly complex and dynamic environment
  • Partner with Digital Transformation leadership to maintain provided data products position for future success
  • Manage capacity, priorities, and performance for a team of data scientists, visualization engineers, and data engineers
  • Anticipate and provide resources to make Data Operations staff successful
  • Establish best practices for team execution
  • Develop data and analytics talent pipeline
  • Onboard and maintain data and analytics COTS products for the enterprise
  • Advise leadership team on data and analytics value, opportunities, and strategy
  • Build a culture around data sharing, information governance, and analytic literacy

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in a relevant domain or Master’s degree and 8+ years’ relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing teams, either direct or matrixed.
  • Significant experience with data analytics and data science tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product/technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to transform business requirements to specific analytical tools.
  • Experience leading in an Agile environment.
  • Ability to obtain a DOD Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for varied audiences on analytical subject matter.
  • Passion for being at the leading edge of technology with hands-on software development or analytics experience.
  • Experience managing development of complex software system architecture projects.
  • Experience in business process improvement methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a diverse, geographically dispersed team.
  • Attention to detail, quality, and accuracy.
  • Ability to make decisions with minimal support.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information.
  • Experience with concepts such as: Data Catalog, Data Warehouse, Common Data Model, Data Architecture.
  • Experience with SSIS, Denodo, Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, SQL Service, and Cloud Analytics Services in AWS/Azure.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint skills.
  • Knowledge of Northrop Grumman data sources and cybersecurity standards and practices. 
  • Understanding of Northrop Grumman policy, process, and products.
  • Current DOD Secret or Top Secret.

Salary Range: $141,300 USD - $233,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
