Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Wing Data Simulator Software Engineer. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, Colorado and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program

What You’ll Get To Do:

The Wing Data Simulator project is developing a complex Software/Hardware modeling and simulation capability that will be used to test the GBSD weapon system. Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • This position will develop C++ software in a dynamic environment using the Agile (Scrum) framework. 
  • This position will join a scrum team of 6-8 engineers to develop software capability. 
  • The development scrum team members will work closely with the WDS Systems Engineering team to define and mature future development activity. 
  • The WDS project heavily leverages Continuous Integration/Deployment as well as automated test concepts, so DevSecOps and automation experience is useful. 
  • Experience with Linux OS is required. 
  • Experience with code packaging and configuration management is very useful.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications:

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 2 Years of experience with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 5 years.
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
  • C++ development experience
  • Experience with Linux OS
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Experience with Atlassian tool suite
  • Experience with software development using a DevOps pipeline
  • Experience with code design documentation using UML

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Hardware/Software interface design
  • Experience with software and hardware certification/accreditation
  • Experience with embedded systems
  • Experience with databases (structure, design) and query languages
  • Experience with real-time operating systems
  • Experience with secure software development such as DO-178C compliant or similar
  • UML modeling experience using Rhapsody

Salary Range: $74,900 USD - $112,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
