About the Role

The Data Platform team is responsible for the data transport, processing and access to critical security events in a timely manner for our customers (both internal and external) and frees our customers from data platform concerns to focus on their core product. The real time ingestion pipeline is the data transport backbone for the Netskope Security Cloud, integrating the edge nodes to the public cloud and regional data centers for processing and integrating with the Data Lake.

We’re looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the Ingestion Pipeline team and can wear many hats - serving as an architect, developer, project manager etc to deliver services that power Netskope’s Data Ingestion Pipeline. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for raising the bar for engineering excellence, collaborating cross functionally to build a roadmap, prioritize and deliver, and hiring and growth of the team.

Qualifications

• You have experience leading and growing high performing engineering teams comprised of engineers at all levels, coaching and developing the team 
• You are a strong advocate for engineering best practices and leverage your technical expertise to continuously raise the bar
• You have hands-on programming experience in Python, Golang or similar languages
• You have hands-on experience architecting & building distributed systems at scale
• You have experience in developing solutions based on event driven architecture using technologies like Apache Kafka, Google PubSub etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• BSCS or equivalent required, MSCS or equivalent preferred

Bonus Points:

• Prior experience with streaming technologies like Flink, Kafka Streams etc.
• Prior experience with distributed data stores like Clickhouse, MongoDB etc. 
• Understanding of coding best practices and providing effective code review feedback
• Willing to work in the Pacific Time zone (UTC -8)
