We’re looking for an IoT Software Engineer Intern to join our Philips Hue Engineering Team in Alto Palo, California.

As an IoT Software Engineer Intern, you’ll be responsible for helping us build and test our latest innovations. You’ll be part of our multi-disciplinary Philips Hue engineering team in the Bay Area. This is a fast-growing site with responsibilities to create and maintain software products that take the Philips Hue system beyond the lighting domain. We develop first-of-a-kind products that can synchronize lighting with games, movies, and music, we build integrations with products from other leading Smart Home and Entertainment companies, and we’re currently extending the team to build a completely new line of products within the Hue ecosystem.

What you’ll do

• Prototype new innovation ideas for the Philips Hue system
• Take part in a developing and shipping software features for our products
• Build test automation for new Hue functionalities or tools to improve our development

Your qualifications

• Actively pursuing a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related.
• Practical application development experience in at least one of cloud (AWS/Go), embedded (c/c++ on RTOS or Linux), mobile (iOS/Android) or test automation (Java/Python/Jenkins) domains
• Knowledge of web technologies and IoT networking protocols, such as RESTful APIs, OAUTH, HTTP, MQTT, TLS, mDNS, TCP/UDP, ZigBee, BLE
• A passion for IOT products and an affinity with Smart Home application domains like lighting, entertainment, and security

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship needs.
