In the Geos team, we empower emerging businesses and regional operational teams to achieve their goals. Specifically, the community team is driving acquisition and helping out the business in many ways (Clubs leaders communication, Meetups facilitators, etc.). The objective here is to foster a community where Hosts feel a sense of connection so they can easily engage and share experiences with other Hosts in their local area.

As we continue to expand our business, we continue to look for the best and brightest to drive strategic decisions and growth. To this end, Airbnb is seeking a passionate, positive, bright, forward-thinking and entrepreneurial person to ensure the success of the entire Community program.

Behind the scenes, Data Science infuses Airbnb’s technology with data and helps us understand the way we share, comprehend and interact with our global community. As a Data Science Intern, you’ll be an integral part of our cross-functional product teams where you will face our company’s ambitious goals. We’ll provide support, mentorship, and real world experience needed to accelerate your learning and make a real impact on our product; you’ll use data to guide decisions and products at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and develop the Community team analytics on product, policy and engagement
• Build data foundations to contribute in scaling the program worldwide in 2022
• Find synergies with other People Powered Growth programs (Co-hosting, Ambassadors) and identify opportunities of development
• Design new data products and tools to better understand the value of the acquired supply
• Design experiments to measure the impact of these initiatives on our marketplace

Requirements:

• Relevant education in a quantitative field including Applied Math, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, or Computer Science
• Proven ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments
• Experience with languages used for querying (e.g. Hive/Presto/SQL), preprocessing (e.g. unix/python), and statistical analysis (e.g. R/Python)
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and ever-changing start-up environment.
