Job Description

As an NLP (Natural Language Processing) researcher, you will work on exciting projects that develop AI technologies to solve NLP problems in various real-world applications, such as smart customer service, health/personal assistance, translation, news summarization, etc. Those problems will not only challenge your creativity to spawn a solution but also your engineering skills to implement the solution with the fast-then-ever performance. Your talent in conducting innovative research and development will certainly be fulfilled in your daily work. Responsibilities:

• Lead and conduct research of relevant/emerging AI technologies (e.g., deep learning frameworks) and propose the best of breeds solutions to meet the specific NLP requirements.
• Implement AI solutions as proof of concepts and/or for commercialization of the NLP applications.
• Tune your NLP algorithms to the optimum performance to handle real-time processing requirements in production system.
• Publish relevant AI research papers, file patents when necessary and approved, and attend conferences for increasing public awareness of Huawei’s products.
• Team with other departments (e.g., hardware) and provide specific feedbacks to them for improvement.
• Assist the team lead on planning of projects and definition of technology/products development road map.
• Guide junior members to accomplish their project tasks.

Qualifications

• Master/PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math/Statistics.
• Working experience in natural language processing (NLP).
• Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as Tensorflow/PyTorch/MXNet/Keras/.
• Hands-on skills in Python/C++ programming.
• Good documentation skills in writing internal reports and/or publishing research papers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience in speech recognition, dialogue systems, speech synthesis, and/or translation.
• 1+ year experience in optimizing performance of deep learning models.
• Solid Software development skills.
• Solid knowledge of AI software and hardware systems, and AI workload analysis methodologies and practices.
