Project Description

The project entails exploring Machine Learning for the SONTRAC 3D Neutron Spectrometer. The instrument prototype readout has been designed to read the detectors in strips, forming 1D projections. The data is inherently compressed and requires (1) track identification and (2) track reconstruction. This project emphasizes on using ML techniques, implemented in Matlab or Python to identify the proton tracks from simulated and real data.
