Project Description
Use machine learning (including transfer learning) techniques to develop an algorithm for predicting in situ / ground based atmospheric conditions using remote spacecraft measurements. This is an agile project that may shift focus between Earth-based algorithm development and Mars-based transfer learning. Required Computer Skills: Python and data science tools (TensorFlow, numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, pandas), Linux+command line (e.g., bash or zsh), ability to work with remote computers and file systems. Optional: Plotly/Dash Science/Technical Skills: Practical machine learning experience, experience working with large datasets that may not fit entirely in RAM, experience downloading and working with remote datasets, including experience with Earth and/or Mars science remote sensing datasets. Other Skills: Team player, functions well in a virtual environment, able to do independent research, technical writing/communication/documentation
