Job Description

As a Backend Software Engineer at?Cision, you will be working with established highly functioning teams to design, build and deploy?Cision’s?multi-system information backbone.? This platform?includes multiple data processing systems with messaging systems connecting them.? You will help drive various efforts on your team that strives to maintain and support its work on a continuous basis using a variety of technologies in a fast-paced Agile environment.??

What you will be doing:

• Ensuring continuity of transferand quality of data between separate systems powered by different technologies. 
• Work with internal and external customers to define new features that will drive our business. 
• Contribute to our team’s continuous efforts to improve quality and efficiency of development platforms, tools, and processes. 

Skills and experience:

• 5+ years professional software experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience. 
• Solid proven professional experience using Java or another?jvm?language to deliver scalable services and APIs. 
• Solid proven professional experience using Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ or other durable messaging platforms. 
• Experience working with a variety of relational and non-relational databases. 
• Experience building and deploying microservices and instrumenting them for monitoring and observability (Influx/Grafana). 
• Experience using Linux/Centos operating systems. 
• Experience building and maintaining Rest APIs.
