About the Role:

Beauty for All Industries is looking for a talented and innovative VP, Data Science & Analytics to lead and evolve our data science and analytics team. We are a data-driven organization and our obsession with data analytics and KPIs has been critical to the growth of the company. In order to drive the next stage of growth, we are looking for a proven leader that can help us develop a deeper understanding of our data, generate customer insights that we can effectively action across the business, and develop the systems and structure needed to consistently accelerate our business.

You are a perfect fit for the role if you have a track record of building a culture of and driving data-driven decision-making across the company, performing analyses that yield valuable and actionable insights, and helping to democratize data across the organization.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Own analytics, insights and testing, bringing best practices and a robust toolkit to continuously improve and foster accelerated learning across the organization
  • Partner closely with the Senior Leadership and cross-functional teams to identify meaningful KPIs and build reporting to keep the company up to date on progress; partner on ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Partner closely with the AI/Machine Learning team to define and drive key business strategies such as personalization and scale
  • Hire, inspire and grow a high-performing team of analysts/data scientists.
  • Collaborate with leaders across practically every function from Merchandising, Operations, Product Development to Finance and more, to ensure accurate tracking and data collection, and help drive their understanding of the key drivers of the business
  • Gather and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to develop impactful and actionable product, user and business insights, and collaborate closely to develop strategies to drive the business
  • Lead analytical deep-dives to identify problems, opportunities, and actions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Engineering team to design and assist in building and/or implementing Data infrastructure across the organization.
  • Drive the necessary tools, processes and training to democratize data for cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product to build predictive models that are used by Product, Merchandising, Growth and Marketing teams.
  • Be the company advocate for utilizing statistical data in an accurate and consistent manner across all departments and levels of the organization.

What We are Looking For:

  • 12+ years of demonstrated success in analytics/data science; 5+ years of experience leading analytics/data science teams in a fast-growing organization.
  • Strong quantitative background obtained through a degree in a related field (e.g. Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics); MS/PhD preferred.
  • Successful track record of building and developing a high-performing team.
  • Deep understanding of testing and experimentation; experience with designing, analyzing tests, and driving a test-driven culture across engineering, product, and operational teams.
  • Expert level knowledge of SQL combined with an understanding of big data and real-time processing systems and tools (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig, MapReduce, Kafka, Storm, AWS GCP etc.).
  • Expertise in BI tools such as Tableau, Databricks and Snowflake.
  • Good understanding of cloud platforms/providers such as AWS and GCP 
  • Exposure to scripting languages and statistical packages (e.g. Python and R).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
