The Team:

You will work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of independent data scientists and software engineers who develop and integrate state-of-the-art algorithms and software to challenging customer use-cases.

The Role:

This position will involve you working for one or more of our leading customers thus bringing forth a high impact-based learning opportunity in a fast-paced environment. Your position will compliment our customer by providing vision, expertise, intelligence, and better decision-making skills for their business use cases, primarily in Fintech and Healthcare domains. It will involve working on all the facets of data science, machine learning and deep learning that includes building prototypes to assist our team in building complex data pipelines for ingesting large amounts of unstructured data, performing data extraction and analysis on highly sensitive client data and improving any of the existing ML models for productionizing at a large scale.

Essential Functions:

• Applying knowledge of tools and current data science processes and enforce the same against data science teams
• Familiarity with project management concepts and principles to assist senior management and other business stakeholders
• Mine and analyse data from various sources to drive decision support and improvement of organisation strategies.
• Work with and create data architectures for each business use-case.
• Conduct data model reviews with project team members.
• Coordinating with different functional teams to implement models and monitor their outcomes consistently
• Developing accuracy metrics on the client dataset to highlight inconsistencies in terms of information extraction.
• Support the agile software development lifecycle with minimum senior level support.
• Document all scripts used for extracting/ processing data
• Exposure to full stack software development methodology to facilitate smooth data driven application/ product development.
• Defining key aspects of problems that require intricate analysis and research, and developing complex solutions keeping in mind the business context.
• Constant research on industry grade data science/ machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques and identify the ones for Altada’s business use-cases.
• Educate, coach and develop fellow team engineers on distributed systems engineering so as to enable best future data science and practice.
• Apply best practices and standard operating procedures.
• Perform any other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Education and Work Experience Required:

• Minimum a Master’s degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or any other related quantitative field

• 5+ years of overall experience or 3+ years in the data science domain

•  Proficiency writing code in Python (expert level production ready code) but enjoy learning new technologies

• You have a solid understanding of distributed systems and deployed services in AWS

•  Ability to come up with creative solutions and quickly prototype and convey to the major stakeholders.

• Architect ML solutions from the inception stage and present to the client/stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of machine learning methods (unsupervised, supervised, semi-supervised)

• Work with unstructured data, either text or images, solving challenging problems of automatically detecting problematic data in scanned files/documents.

• Previous working knowledge in the Financial Domain is a plus

• Demonstrate working knowledge and practical use-case implementation on text classifier or image classifiers/models

• Working knowledge in at least one of the frameworks like Tensorflow/ Keras / PyTorch is a must.

• Track record of working in python web frameworks like Django / Flask that could assist in rapid prototyping or client POCs

• Familiarity with OCR technologies and information retrieval tasks from huge unstructured datasets

•  Software engineering background, e.g., you have a Computer Science background, or software engineering working experience

• Agile Methodologies using Jira or other project management tools

• Brilliant storyboarding skills to convey complex solutions in a clear and crisp manner to the management team.

• Managing teams of diverse disciplines

• Able to work independently and as a team, and drive a project from its inception to the finish line on strict deadlines
