Job Description

Reporting to the Data Architect, the Data Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining custom data solutions with the goal of providing data to the decision makers, and support data integrations between Hylant’s operational applications with the goal of streamlining data flows, reducing duplicate entry, and improving data integrity. This individual will leverage technology and expertise to collect, store and present data to Hylant employees and clients. The role will also support other data and reporting requests as needed.

Are You A Match?

The Data Engineer will have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology plus a minimum of 3-4 years of data solutions development experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

A minimum 2 years of development experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, Microsoft Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services). Data warehouse, OLAP cube, and visualization software such as Power BI experience is preferred.

In This Role You Will Execute On:

• Translate business requirements into technical requirements
• Develop systems to collect, manage, and convert raw data into usable information
• Develop, test, document and implement high-performing, scalable solutions including database schema, ETL processes, stored procedures, reports, and dashboards
• Conduct unit testing and troubleshoot and resolve production issues
• Proactively analyze performance of stored procedures, queries, and reports to correct any discrepancies
• Provide ongoing support for integrations between Hylant operational systems (i.e., Epic, BenefitPoint, ADP, Concur, RiskMatch, etc.)
• Provide support for financial and operational procedures, including reporting (month-end, year-end)
• Implement ETL and automation efforts as needed
• Utilize deployment frameworks to move artifacts from development to test to production environments
• Utilize version control system to manage artifact history

• Support other data and reporting requests as needed
