Jam City is looking for passionate, engaged and data driven individuals to join our growing Data Science team. We are searching for Senior Data Scientists ready to work across our portfolio of games and be involved in every part of the process of delivering fun to millions of users worldwide. Working with our state of the art data infrastructure and diverse team you will see your contributions influence every aspect of our games, from marketing to production and even gameplay. As part of a data driven gaming and entertainment company you’ll be well placed to see your models and analysis shape the future of the company.

Senior Data Scientists drive change at Jam City. They are expected to establish ownership over or more project areas and work either with a team or as an independent contributor to advance our understanding of data and our games. This means that Senior Data Scientists have the flexibility to move from deep dive research on the latest models and algorithms to data pulling and cleaning to managing a team of analysts and associate Data Scientists to deliver results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take ownership of a product, model or area of expertise and become the go to person in that vertical.
• Work with stakeholders and a team of data analysts and data scientists to deliver results that are both actionable and useful.
• Contribute to the overall level of knowledge within the team by acting as a trainer and mentor to other Jam Citizens.
• Keep on top of the latest developments in research and industry by being an active and informed consumer of research.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A graduate degree in a quantitative field or three years of industry experience.
• The ability to use SQL or a scripting language such as Python or Scala to generate, clean and explore complex datasets.
• A demonstrated track record of using statistical languages/packages such as R or Python to build features, create models and explore datasets.
• Experience presenting and describing complex datasets or statistical processes to audiences without a technical background.
• The ability to learn and use skills that you already have to tackle new problems in a creative way.

NICE TO HAVE

• An advanced/graduate degree with presentations/publications demonstrating the ability to drive research projects from start to finish or five years of experience.
• Experience with neural network frameworks such as Tensorflow/Torch.
• Knowledge of Spark and associated products.
• Or some other unique skill that you can teach the team to help us level up our analytical capabilities!
