Yahoo is seeking a seasoned data professional to oversee all aspects of data intake, integration, hygiene, and QA associated with our use of Adobe Experience Platform to build a unified customer profile. The role will work closely with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders across the marketing, data science and analytics, audience data, and engineering teams.
Standardizing on Adobe as our marketing system of record is a large, complex, fast moving and visible initiative at Yahoo. We are executing on a vision that includes:
- Connecting and ingesting disparate data source into a Unified Marketing Profile that can be leveraged across brands and channels
- Redefining product experiences to feature meaningful touchpoints that will be used to enable Cohesive Customer Journeys, sparking engagement and deeper monetization across the Yahoo ecosystem.
- Using A.I. and Machine Learning to scale Intelligent Decision Making that delivers meaningful offers to users.
- Delivering real-time, Relevant Experiences to individual customers, across channels.
The Data PM will be critical to our ability to realize value from the large, complex data sets that power our Adobe investment, by allowing us to target customers based on their attributes and behaviors in both Machine Learning and Prescriptive Marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate brings a technical background to bear on our ability to realize sophisticated Marketing campaigns.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee identification, spec’ing, prioritization and ingestion of streaming and batch data into Adobe Unified Profile, based on business cases.
- Partner with the Analytics and Go-To-Market teams who create/manage segments for user targeting, to derive opportunity sizing of a particular segment visiting a particular page and ensure that data is available for targeting.
- Perform Semantic Mapping for data requests that don’t exist in AEP.
- Institute hygiene around a large data library, ensuring consistent, user-friendly naming conventions and definitions, including maintenance of a data-dictionary
- Establish a point of view around underused data signals that could be helpful in targeting users
- Work closely with PMs and domain experts from different verticals (Sports, Finance, Editorial) to establish conversance in a wide range of streaming signals and profile attributes
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies between internal and external systems, in partnership with data engineering
- Help determine strategy for which data to ingest directly to AEP, and which to ingest directly to Target as profile attributes
- Develop strategy around building and ingesting propensity scores, which can improve ML targeting
- Work with the Adobe team on issues around identity resolution, which has implications for cost and compliance with our existing contract.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of technical experience working in a data-oriented Product Management or Engineering Role.
- Familiarity with database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, etc) and proven track record and enthusiasm for complex problem solving and analysis, including working with large data sets (log level data) and gre
- at Excel skills.
- SQL expertise required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to drive solutions with technical teams and to represent technical points for decision making to semi-technical and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to make tough prioritization calls, factoring in LOE, business impact on marketing use cases, and complexity
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify issues, solve them quickly and well, and know when to rely on internal resources to assist
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, creative, and problem-solving skills.
