Overview

Data Scientist for the Global Banking Analytics Team. Hands on developer for complex IT projects including defining the project scope, goals and deliverables that support business needs in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • The scope of projects includes NLP, as well as, Descriptive, Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics. Cultivate the team and the infrastructure to support modeling, visualizing, and analyzing loan and transaction data for Global Banking. 
  • Develop value-added NLP, DS and user-experiences that support revenue generation, business insight, automation, risk management, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, loan pricing, pre and post-sale loan facility research, transaction monitoring and alerting.
  • These solutions must overcome issues of complex data (e.g., VLDB, multi-structured, big data, etc.) as well as deployment of advanced techniques (e.g., machine learning, natural language processing, statistical analysis, etc.) to deliver insights to clients and associates.
  • Determine best practices in the areas of Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning and Data Science. Facilitate the use of these technologies to create innovative solutions for the loan and commercial banking lines of business.
  • Liaise with Consumer Banking, Markets and Enterprise Level teams to determine the best practices in the firm and contribute to improving proficiency in these areas for Global Banking Technology.
  • Work with the sales and underwriting Associates and Agile development teams during project intake, ideation, and development. 
  • Present new technologies that relate to solutions for high ROI applications of analytics and data within the bank. 
  • Graduate degree in computer science is preferred or substantial equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 3-5+ years as a practitioner of Java, Python, C++, and UI/UX software development, as well as a strong track record for mentoring developers. 

Required Skills

  • 3+ plus years of hands-on coding experience in a challenging change environment.
  • Graduate or strong Undergraduate level proficiency in Computer Science or Machine Learning or NLP or Equivalent
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal; ability to communicate at all levels; able to influence/challenge and negotiate with minimum direct supervision
