Currently, we are looking for a Data Analytics Developer with experience in data management and statistical programming for data analytic and research projects within the Human Services unit.The Data Analytics Developer will contribute to intensive data wrangling, advanced programming, administrative data collection and/or data management tasks. They will also apply knowledge of program, policy, and/or data content, as well as econometric and statistical methods, when they acquire, clean, manipulate, manage, and analyze data. These tasks will most often be accomplished using a combination of statistical programming packages like Stata, R, and SAS, as well as SQL and Python, on both cloud-hosted and more traditional platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Write programs in R, Stata, or Python to extract, transform, and wrangle data and to create variables for use in analysis
  • Use SQL and NoSQL to manage large structured and unstructured data sources
  • Perform statistical analyses and prepare tables, graphs, and visualizations
  • Interpret data outputs and findings to researchers
  • Assist in the development of reporting specifications and user manuals
  • Contribute to the definition, specification, and documentation of data and security requirements
  • Assist with data management and analysis of federal, state, and local information systems.
  • Perform software quality assurance and testing, including the development of testing tools using a variety of technologies including Microsoft Office, SQL, .NET, C#, Python, R, and SAS among others.

Position Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, data analytics, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or another relevant field
  • 3-5 years of programming experience in a professional or academic environment 
  • Experience with statistical programming languages like Stata and SAS
  • Experience with open-source programming languages like R, Python and/or JavaScript 
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases to work with large structured and unstructured data
  • Experience wrangling large and complex datasets and preparing them for analysis

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of $70,000 - $100,000. This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.

Various federal agencies with whom we contract require that staff successfully undergo a background investigation or security clearance as a condition of working on the project. If you are assigned to such a project, you will be required to obtain the requisite security clearance.
