The Director, Commercial Life Sciences and MedTech will lead a strategic business development team focused on expanding Mathematica’s portfolio in the life sciences market, including digital services data, data science, and data analytics work. They will engage in both proactive and RFP-based business development opportunities, including the development of strategic partnerships that lead to new business.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead to the strategic framework for Mathematica’s ongoing business development activities in the life sciences market
  • Conduct active outreach to potential partners and manage teaming and subcontractor agreements in support of Mathematica’s life sciences portfolio
  • Develop budget specifications and review budget materials for proposals and other client engagements within the life sciences portfolio
  • Participate in brainstorming and writing activities for technical proposal language used in response to RFPs and other solicitations for life sciences clients
  • Work collaboratively across technology and advisory services teams to ensure adequate material is documented and available for BD activities with life sciences clients
  • Participate in technical project delivery by serving either in a project leadership role or a client engagement capacity with life sciences clients
  • Lead teams to document project requirements and oversee the development of prototypes and other interactive demonstrations for life sciences engagements
  • Deliver client presentations and ensure client satisfaction with technical deliverables on life sciences projects
  • Coordinate the communication of highly specialized policy and technology outputs to client leads in life sciences markets

Position Requirements:
Requirements:

  • 5-10 years demonstrated experience with customer acquisition and retention working directly with economic buyers, leading responses to RFPs including capture planning activities, developing and managing a team of partners, and navigating the connection of sales and delivery teams pre- and post-sales or
  • 5-10 years of experience applying technology to provide solutions for decision makers regarding complex policy issues; 5-10 years of experience leading go-to-market activities for digital product and platform solutions for data science and analytics or
  • 5-10 years of experience working with cross-functional technology and advisory services teams in a consulting context
  • Preferably a Graduate degree
  • Working knowledge of digital processes, technologies, and tools such as Agile, Jira, Confluence, and Tableau
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Experience building and leading teams
  • Enthusiastic, highly team-oriented, able to work in a matrixed environment on a fast-moving, growing team
  • Strongly preferred: experience working in a delivery setting to design, develop, implement, configure, or integrate health systems
