Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in analytical roles.
  • Experience in SQL and relational databases, including queries.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with Python, R, Data Science, Machine Learning, Logging, and UI Design.
  • Experience in data analytics and/or programming tools, such as Tableau, BigQuery, Data Studio, Looker, PowerBI, Colab, and Jupyter Notebook.
  • Experience working with advanced data science techniques (e.g., statistical models, machine learning, multivariable regressions, etc.) and identifying opportunities to apply them.
  • Ability to manage complex projects simultaneously and drive projects to completion with limited guidance and attention to detail.

Our Legal team needs more than attorneys to keep things moving. Our Legal Operations team is charged with improving and maintaining the Legal team's internal processes, systems and tools. Responsible for tracking objectives, coordinating financial planning and solving technology challenges, you are entrepreneurial, proactive and highly organized. You keep costs down, engage third-party vendors and make the Legal team's services better, faster and more efficient.

The Legal Business Intelligence (BI) team accelerates decision-making across Google's Legal team. Our team works with stakeholders in Investigations, Regulatory Investigations, Litigation, Trademark and Counterfeit Operations, and more. We develop forward-thinking analyses to generating management reporting and dashboards. In addition, we provide business intelligence solutions for Google Legal teams by working at the crossroads of the law technology.

As the Business Intelligence Analyst, you will act as a trusted advisor to the stakeholders managing reporting and analysis. You will also partner with other BI Analysts and Program Managers to support business needs throughout Google's Legal landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Develop BI solutions, such as building pipelines, dashboards, models, and tools to analyze and present data associated with workstreams within the Legal department.
  • Work cross-functionally with Legal teams to understand existing datasets and identify data sources needed to support the business, align on metrics, and ensure reporting is accurate and consistent across teams.
  • Provide actionable insights to the business through data analysis to drive greater efficiency, effectiveness, and impact across our Legal teams.
  • Build and manage relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and act as a trusted BI advisor for the Legal and Global Affairs organizations and their Strategy and Operations teams.
  • Promote the business, problem-solve, and identify positive return-on-investment (ROI) opportunities.
