This is what you are going to do ...

As a Data Scientist you are part of the Insights team within Merkle. This team is engaged in translating data into insights. This is done, among other things, by applying advanced analytics, performing predictive modeling and building performance dashboards. Based on these insights, the team advises internal and external clients so that they can further optimize their marketing activities. As an experienced Data Scientist, you are also expected to manage the trainees in the team and help them with their development.

Your knowledge and skills complement our team. Customers experience you as the analytical eye and the specialist. As a Data Scientist you have experience in working with structured and unstructured data. You are technically minded and able to merge, edit and convert data from databases and various data sources into useful insights. You know how to further optimize and automate processes, for example with APIs. You apply (new) methods and techniques to answer marketing and communication issues. The ideal candidate therefore has a solid background in predictive modeling, advanced analytics and programming. Because Merkle operates mainly within the marketing domain, experience with marketing issues such as churn, cross-sell, NBAs, test plans and segmentations is a must.

We still have a few wishes ...

3 - 5 years of work experience in a similar position at a corporate or agency / consultancy;
A completed master with a quantitative framework (Computer Science, Econometrics, (Applied) Mathematics, Physics or a related study);
Passion for analyzing (big) data, developing and applying statistical models;
Knowledge of or experience with relational databases such as SQL, Oracle, mySQL, MS SQL;
Knowledge of or experience with programming in R, Python;
Affinity with reporting and dashboarding such as Qlik Sense, Tableau, Power BI;
Experience in presenting and communicating results and insights;
Strong communication skills;
Good command of the Dutch and English language.
